Access in the park

We have a mobility scooter, stroller and umbrellas for our customers use available at the counter on a first come first served basis.

Disability assist dogs on leads are welcome throughout the centre. This includes the Visitor Centre, cafe, ngahere (forest) and kiwi house.

The Loop Track (including to the Lookout) is not suitable for wheelchairs as it involves rocky, uneven and steep terrain. If you are on foot you will find stairs and steep uphill and downhill walking.

Accessible toilets can be found in our public toilet on the left-hand side of the Visitor Centre before you enter. Here you can also find a baby changing table.

At this stage, we do not have specific materials available for blind or Deaf visitors.
