The chattiest of the New Zealand natives, the tui may appear black from a distance but each feather has iridescent hues of green, blue and purple. Highly territorial, these birds can be seen defending their patch from kākā, hawks and even falcons. Tui are widespread at Pūkaha and have nested very well the past few years.
By sponsoring the Tui Territory you will be supporting our team by ensuring traps are set and maintained throughout the year to provide a safe habitat for our native species such as the tui.
