The favourite bird of Aoteroa New Zealand, the iconic kiwi, lives here. This unique species was once found all across the country but today is under threat due to predation and habitat loss.
By sponsoring the Kiwi Territory you will be supporting our team by ensuring traps are set and maintained throughout the year to provide a safe habitat for our native species such as the burrowing kiwi and kākā who nest high up in the trees. Your donation will also go towards checking the kākā nest boxes throughout breeding season and monitoring their chicks as well as monitoring our wild kiwi population and the chicks released back into the forest after going through Operation Nest Egg.
