Pūkaha
After Dark
When the sun goes down, the ngahere comes alive. Join us for a guided evening among Pūkaha's nocturnal wildlife.
Book nowA whole other world
As evening settles over the forest, head out along Pūkaha's Loop Track, normally only accessible during the day, and make your way to the top of the reserve.
Along the way, experience the changing sights and sounds of the ngahere as daylight fades and the forest comes alive at night. At the top, pause to enjoy a warming kawakawa tea and light snack before beginning the return journey under the night sky.
The experience also includes a short presentation exploring Pūkaha, our connection to the ngahere and the importance of protecting our dark skies.
This is a unique opportunity to experience a different side of Pūkaha and see what happens when the daytime visitors have gone home.
