We need your help to take exciting winter photographs of our reserve to show everyone how fun and amazing a winter visit can be.

Visit Pūkaha and take wintery photos during July and August. Enter by 31st August 2021 to win photographic and family prizes.

Anything goes! Photos can be of wildlife, nature, people, sparkling and glistening moments, puddle splashing, water. The more wintery the better! Photos can be taken on any phone, device or camera.


Pūkaha Wildlife Photography Tour for 1 adult and 1 child. Valued at $500

Terms and Conditions

  • Open to children aged 0-17 years old
  • Complete the form to enter. By completing the form you agree to receive the Forest Guardians monthly eNewsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time
  • Entries can only be received via the online entry form
  • Children must have the permission of their parent/guardian/caregiver to enter
  • Any device / camera can be used to take the photo
  • Photos must be taken at Pūkaha National Wildlife Centre (PNWC) during July and August 2021
  • Photos must be the original content of the photographer entering
  • Photos must be minimum 1MB in size
  • A maximum of five entries (photos) per photographer can be entered
  • Competition closes 11.59pm on 31st August 2021
  • PNWC reserves the right to use any photo for publicity and marketing purposes (including in print, online and social media). Photos will be credited to their owners wherever possible
  • Winners agree to have their names, ages and photos published by the Wairarapa Times Age and PNWC (including in print, online and social media)
  • Judges decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into
  • Digital editing and creative digital techniques are permitted
  • Please take care not to harm or disturb any wildlife at Pūkaha in the making of your photographs. Please no flash, holding or hand feeding of any wildlife
  • Have fun! Having fun is important.
