This summer is all about more green and less screen at Pukaha Mount Bruce.
Together with our Nature Connections partners Wellington Zoo, Zealandia, Nga Manu, Staglands, Battle Hill Farm Forest Park, Kaitoke Regional Park, Otari-Wilton’s Bush, Matiu/Somes Island and Wellington Botanic Garden we're working together to get families enjoying the natural riches the greater Wellington region has to offer.
'Wild Things' have been placed in a mystery location at each partner site. Families are encouraged to get outdoors, take a photo with their Wild Things and post their best 'Wild face' to #wellingtonwildthings to be in to win neat prizes. Pukaha's Wild Thing is 'Slither', who is part eel and part kaka and very much a part of Pukaha!
For more information on Wellington Wild Things check out the facebook page here.
As well as looking for Slither, Pukaha has lots of other bits and pieces to be found as part of our Discover Pukaha Nature Search. Pick up a list of things which Kev the Kaka wants you to look for when you arrive and see how many special things you can find during your visit.
Tick off your list as you see them and when you leave simply drop your completed form into the box at reception. There are lots of great prizes to be won in our regular prize draws including soft toys, books and free family passes.
Pukaha is open every day except Christmas Day from 9am until 4.30pm.
